Apply for credit

How you start your online credit application from your quote, what each step asks for, and how you follow its progress in "My loans".

With the online credit application you do the paperwork on Cliquéalo: you fill in your details, upload your documents, confirm your identity, and sign. You start from the simulator quote and follow its progress in "My loans".

Unlike the simulator, here we do ask for documents and for your authorization to check your credit history. Your data is used to process your credit and for the financial analysis required by law.

Before you start

  • Your account. You need to be signed in. If you don't have an account, you create it in the simulator itself with the code we send to your email.
  • A car that offers it. Only some agency cars offer the online application. If you don't see "Apply for credit" after requesting your quote, that car doesn't have it: keep talking with the seller by "Chat" or on WhatsApp.
  • Your paperwork at hand. Your INE (voter ID), a proof of address, and whatever proves your income. Exactly which ones depends on how you prove your income; you see them in "Documents" below.
  • Your references. The names and phone numbers of people who know you and don't live with you.
  • A phone or computer with a camera for the identity verification.

Start from your quote

Request your quote

On the car's page tap "Estimate financing", choose a product, down payment, and term, and tap "Get my quote". See Credit simulator.

Tap "Apply for credit"

If the car offers the online application, "Apply for credit" appears on the "Your quote is on its way" screen, with the line "You start the application with the details of this quote.". When you tap it, it changes to "Starting...".

Sign in if we ask you to

If you're not signed in and you requested the quote by email, you see "You need an account to start the application. Create it or sign in with the code below.". In the "Save this quote to your account" box, tap "Create my account" and follow the steps with the code we send you; if you already had an account with that email, the code signs you straight in. Then tap "Apply for credit" again.

If you requested it only by WhatsApp, or your session expired, we take you to sign in and you return to the car's page. Open "Estimate financing" again and request your quote so "Apply for credit" shows up again.

Your application opens

You see "Credit application" with the car, your reference number, and the first step. The price, down payment, and term from your quote are already filled in.

If you already had an unsent application for that same car, "Apply for credit" takes you to that one, with what you'd already filled in.

Your application on screen

  • At the top: "Back", which takes you to "My loans"; the title "Credit application"; the car; and "Application no." with its number and your application's status, for example "Application no. CR-000123 · En captura" ("Being filled in"). Below, how many steps you've done, for example "3 of 10 steps complete", with a progress bar. The application fills the whole screen and asks you one thing at a time: your name, then how we can reach you, then your date of birth, and so on. Some questions group details that go together, like your first and last names.

  • On a computer, on the left you see "Credit application", the car, the "Steps" list, the "Application progress" bar, and your reference number, for example "Folio CR-000123".

  • On a phone, at the top you see the step you're on and how far along you are, for example "Step 3 of 10 · 30%", with a progress line. Tap it to see the list of steps. The arrow takes you back to the previous question and the "X" takes you out of the application.

  • In the middle, the question. Details that aren't required say "Optional".

  • At the bottom, always in view, "Continue", which changes to "Saving…" while it saves. If everything in that question is optional, "Skip" also appears. On a computer, "Back" takes you to the previous question.

When you choose between options, like «¿Cómo vas a comprobar tus ingresos?» ("How will you prove your income?"), just tap yours: it's saved and moves on to the next question by itself.

Each step in the list says how it's going:

Complete

You already saved what it asks for.

What you can do: Tap it to review or correct it, as long as you haven't submitted your application.

Pending

It still needs to be filled in. It shows its number.

What you can do: Tap it to fill it in.

Not available yet

It opens when you complete the steps it depends on. It shows a lock.

What you can do: Complete the earlier steps first.

Your advisor completes this

Your advisor fills in that part.

What you can do: Wait. We'll let you know when it's your turn.

While a step is opening, it says "Opening…".

Each time you tap "Continue", that answer is saved. You can leave whenever you want: what you saved stays, and you pick up from "My loans" at the first question you still need to answer.

The application, step by step

The steps and what each one asks for adjust to your case. The "Steps" list always shows yours. These are the ones you'll see:

Who is the credit for?

In «¿Para quién es el crédito?» ("Who is the credit for?"), under «¿Cómo vas a comprobar tus ingresos?» ("How will you prove your income?") choose an option:

  • «Tengo un empleo» ("I have a job"): «Me pagan nómina.» ("I'm paid a salary.")
  • «Trabajo por mi cuenta» ("I'm self-employed"): «Tengo mi propio negocio o actividad.» ("I have my own business or activity.")
  • «Trabajo sin factura» ("I work without invoicing"): «Mis ingresos no están dados de alta en el SAT.» ("My income isn't registered with the SAT.")
  • «Es para mi empresa» ("It's for my company"): «La empresa será la acreditada.» ("The company will be the borrower.")

What you choose changes what we ask for next, especially about your work and your documents.

Your credit

«Tu crédito» ("Your credit") says «Revisa los datos de tu cotización.» ("Check your quote details."). «Precio del auto» ("Car price"), «Enganche» ("Down payment"), and «Plazo en meses» ("Term in months") already come from your quote. Correct them if needed.

Your details

In «Tus datos» ("Your details"): «Nombre(s)» ("First name(s)"), «Primer apellido» ("First last name"), «Segundo apellido» ("Second last name"), «Fecha de nacimiento» ("Date of birth"), «Nacionalidad» ("Nationality"), «RFC» (tax ID), «Celular» ("Cell phone"), «Correo» ("Email"), «Estado civil» ("Marital status"), and «¿Cuántas personas dependen de ti?» ("How many people depend on you?"). If it's for your company, we also ask for «Nombre de la empresa» ("Company name") and we don't ask for marital status or dependents.

If you choose «Mexicana» ("Mexican") in «Nacionalidad», when you save, the step stays open and asks for your «CURP» (population registry key).

Your address

In «Tu domicilio» ("Your address"): «Código postal» ("Postal code"), «Calle» ("Street"), «Número exterior» ("Street number"), «Número interior» ("Unit number"), «Colonia» ("Neighborhood"), «Municipio o alcaldía» ("Municipality or borough"), «Estado» ("State", which you pick from a list that says "Choose an option"), «Tu vivienda es» ("Your home is"), and «¿Cuántos meses llevas viviendo ahí?» ("How many months have you lived there?").

Your work and income

What «Tu trabajo e ingresos» ("Your work and income") asks depends on what you chose at the start:

  • With «Tengo un empleo»: «¿Dónde trabajas?» ("Where do you work?"), «Tu puesto» ("Your position"), and, if you want, «Teléfono de tu trabajo» ("Work phone").
  • Self-employed or without invoicing: «¿A qué te dedicas?» ("What do you do?") and «¿Tienes tu Constancia de Situación Fiscal?» ("Do you have your tax status certificate?"), with "Yes" or "No".
  • For your company: «¿A qué se dedica la empresa?» ("What does the company do?").

In every case: «¿Cuántos meses llevas en ese trabajo o actividad?» ("How many months have you been in that job or activity?") and «Ingreso mensual neto» ("Net monthly income"), with «Lo que recibes al mes, después de impuestos.» ("What you receive per month, after taxes.").

Your references

«Tus referencias» ("Your references") says «Dos personas que te conozcan y no vivan contigo.» ("Two people who know you and don't live with you."). In each "Reference" enter "Full name", a 10-digit "Phone", and "Relationship", which shows the example "E.g. sister, friend". With "Add reference" you add another one; the button goes away when you reach the maximum. With "Remove" you delete an extra one.

Your authorizations

In «Tus autorizaciones» ("Your authorizations"), read and check each box: «Acepto el Aviso de Privacidad» ("I accept the Privacy Notice"), «Autorizo la consulta de mi historial crediticio» ("I authorize checking my credit history"), and «Autorizo el uso de mis datos biométricos para confirmar mi identidad» ("I authorize the use of my biometric data to confirm my identity"). Under the Privacy Notice you see «Tus datos se usan para tramitar tu crédito y para el análisis financiero que exige la ley.» ("Your data is used to process your credit and for the financial analysis required by law."). Without these authorizations we can't process your application.

Confirm it's you

«Confirma que eres tú» ("Confirm it's you") says «Te pediremos tu INE y una selfie en video.» ("We'll ask for your INE and a video selfie."). Tap "Verify my identity". See "Identity verification" below.

Your documents

In «Tus documentos» ("Your documents"), upload each document we ask for. See "Documents" below.

Sign your application

In «Firma tu solicitud» ("Sign your application"), under «Firma» ("Signature") you read «Al firmar confirmas que los datos y documentos de tu solicitud son verdaderos.» ("By signing you confirm that the details and documents in your application are true.") and "Sign inside the box with your finger or mouse.". Sign in the box and enter your "Full name". If it didn't come out right, tap "Clear signature" and sign again.

Some steps wait for others. For example, «Confirma que eres tú» opens when you finish «Tus datos» and «Tus autorizaciones»; «Tus documentos», when you finish «Tus datos» and «Tu trabajo e ingresos»; and «Firma tu solicitud» comes last, when everything else is complete.

Documents

Which documents we ask for, and how many files each one takes, depends on how you prove your income and on your answers. The list that counts is the one you see in «Tus documentos». For example:

  • In almost every case: «INE vigente» ("Valid INE"), with «Tu credencial para votar, vigente y sin recortar, por los dos lados.» ("Your voter ID, valid and uncut, both sides.") or, if your nationality is foreign, «Documento migratorio» ("Immigration document"); and «Comprobante de domicilio» ("Proof of address"), with «Luz, agua, predial o teléfono fijo, a tu nombre o al de con quien vives. El estado de cuenta del banco no sirve como comprobante de domicilio.» ("Electricity, water, property tax, or landline bill, in your name or the name of someone you live with. A bank statement doesn't count as proof of address.").
  • With «Tengo un empleo»: «Recibo de nómina» ("Pay stub"), with «Tu recibo más reciente, donde se vea tu fecha de ingreso. Sirve el PDF que te manda tu empresa.» ("Your most recent pay stub, showing your start date. The PDF your company sends you works."). If you want, you can also upload «Estados de cuenta bancarios» ("Bank statements") or «Carta laboral» ("Employment letter").
  • Self-employed or without invoicing: «Estados de cuenta bancarios», with «De la cuenta donde recibes tus ingresos. Un archivo por mes, del más reciente hacia atrás.» ("From the account where you receive your income. One file per month, from the most recent backward."). If you said you have your tax status certificate, also «Constancia de Situación Fiscal» ("Tax status certificate") and, if you're self-employed, «Declaración anual» ("Annual tax return").
  • If you're married under joint property: «Acta de matrimonio» ("Marriage certificate").

The ones that aren't required say "Optional"; to submit your application, the others are enough.

On each document you see:

  • How many files you have and how many fit, for example "0 of 12 files" or "1 of 1 file".
  • The formats it accepts, for example "Formats: PDF, JPG, or PNG". Some, like bank statements, only accept PDF.
  • "Choose file", to find it on your device. If the document accepts several files, you can choose several at once.
  • "Take photo", only on phones and tablets, and only if the document accepts JPG or PNG.

While it uploads you see "Uploading" with the file name and a progress bar. When it's done, the count goes up on its own. When you reach the maximum, the buttons are replaced by "You've uploaded all the files for this document.".

If a document has several parts, like both sides of your INE or one bank statement per month, upload each part as a file.

Important

Check each file before you upload it. Once it's uploaded, it can't be removed from your application.

Identity verification

Open it

In «Confirma que eres tú» tap "Verify my identity". It changes to "Opening…" and takes you to the identity verification with your INE and a video selfie.

Follow its instructions

Have your INE at hand and do what the verification screen asks until you finish.

Go back to your application

When you finish, you return to your application on your own. The step shows "We received your identity verification." and becomes "Complete".

If, when you return, you see "We couldn't confirm your identity check. Please try again." at the top, open «Confirma que eres tú» and tap "Verify my identity" again.

Submit your application

When all the steps are complete, "Ready to submit" appears, with "You've completed everything needed. Submit your application and we'll keep you posted here.". Tap "Submit application"; it changes to "Submitting…".

When you submit it, you see "We received your application", "Status: En revisión" ("Under review"), and "We'll let you know here when there's news.". While it's under review you can't change your answers.

My loans

All your applications are here, the most recently updated first. Get there from AjustesCuentaDatos personales: in «Más de tu cuenta» ("More from your account") tap «Mis créditos» ("My loans"), with «Tus solicitudes de crédito y en qué paso va cada una.» ("Your loan applications and which step each one is on."). You also get there from your application with the "X" at the top. If you're not signed in, we ask you to sign in first.

Each card shows the car (or "Loan application" if it has none), "Reference" with its number, the status, how many steps you've done, for example "4 of 10 steps", "Updated" with the date, and a progress bar. Tap it to open the application.

If you don't have any yet, you see "You don't have any loan applications yet", "When you apply for a loan on a car, you'll see how your application is going here.", and the "Browse cars" button.

Your application's statuses

The status appears next to the reference number, in your application and on its card in "My loans".

What you can do: Continue with the steps and submit it.

En revisiónUnder review

You submitted it and the Cliquéalo team or your advisor is reviewing it.

What you can do: Wait. In the meantime you can't change your answers.

Te pedimos un dato másWe need one more thing

While reviewing it we need something else from you, like a document or an answer.

What you can do: Open it, complete what's missing, and tap “Submit application” again.

AprobadaApproved

Your application wasn't approved.

What you can do: Look it up. It can no longer be changed.

CanceladaCanceled

The application was canceled and won't continue.

What you can do: Start a new one from the car's quote.

How we let you know

When your application changes status or has news:

  • If you have it open, the screen updates on its own.
  • If you have your panel open, the bell shows «Tu solicitud de crédito cambió de estado» ("Your credit application changed status") or «Tu solicitud de crédito tiene novedades» ("Your credit application has news"), with «Ábrela para ver qué cambió.» ("Open it to see what changed.") and the «Abrir» ("Open") button, which takes you to your application. See Notices and notifications.

When we ask for something else

While reviewing your application, the Cliquéalo team or your advisor may ask you for one more document or detail. For example, «Constancia de tu empleo anterior» ("Proof of your previous job"), with «Nos ayuda a mostrar tu trayectoria laboral.» ("It helps us show your work history."); «Comprobante de tu domicilio anterior» ("Proof of your previous address"), with «Nos ayuda a mostrar tu arraigo.» ("It helps us show how settled you are."); or a written answer, like «Cuéntanos qué otros ingresos tienes y cómo los recibes» ("Tell us what other income you have and how you receive it").

We let you know

Your application moves to «Te pedimos un dato más» and you get «Tu solicitud de crédito tiene novedades».

Open your application

The step with the new request opens, and in the list it says "Pending" again.

Complete it and submit again

Upload the document or write your answer and tap "Continue". When "Ready to submit" appears, tap "Submit application". Your application goes back to «En revisión».

While it's in «Te pedimos un dato más» you can also correct any other step before submitting it.

If an advisor at the agency started the application with you, they send you a link so you can continue it yourself.

  1. Open it. If you're not signed in, we ask you to sign in or create your account.
  2. The application is added to your account and opens. What your advisor already filled in shows as "Complete". Your authorizations, your identity verification, and your signature can only be done by you.
  3. From then on you also see it in "My loans".

If the link expired or another account already used it, you see "This link is no longer valid", "Ask whoever sent it to you for a new one.", and the "Go to my loans" button.

The usual case

All in one go

You request your quote, tap "Apply for credit", choose «Tengo un empleo», fill in each step, verify your identity, upload your INE, your proof of address, and your pay stub, and sign. You tap "Submit application" and it becomes «En revisión». Later we let you know it changed to «Aprobada».

Something doesn't work the first time

We need one more thing

You already submitted it and you get «Tu solicitud de crédito tiene novedades». You open it, see «Te pedimos un dato más», and the «Tus documentos» step asks for «Constancia de tu empleo anterior». You upload it, tap "Continue", and then "Submit application". It goes back to «En revisión».

Worst case

It isn't approved

Your application moves to «No aprobada». It can no longer be changed. Talk with whoever is selling you the car about other options.

Special case

Your session ends halfway

When you save a step you see "Your session ended. Sign in again to continue.". What you saved before is still there. Sign in, go to "My loans", and open your application.
